|
4-5. I want to sing karaoke with different voices. Is this possible with VCS? Top
Yes, changing your singing voice for in karaoke is
one of several benefits of using VCS. It works with PC
Karaoke Players, and also with a regular karaoke device
if your PC line-out is connected to the karaoke device.
When working with Karaoke device, VCS only modifies the
singing voice, not the music of the song.
To do this, first, turn VCS on, set the timbre
and pitch to the desired levels,
turn the Duplex button on, then
start singing to the microphone.
4-6. If I am doing voice chat and listening to music at the same time, will VCS change my voice?Top
Yes, it will.
VCS can capture many sound streams but process only one
at a time. When you are playing music and
doing voice chat simultaneously, VCS will
give the priority to the voice stream.
Besides, VCS has
an built-in player with advanced settings that allows
you to listen to music without interfere to the voice
chat process.
4-7. Can I save a voice settings for later use? Top
Yes, you can.
When you have had the desired morphing effects for your
voice, such as settings for pitch & timbre, of the Advanced
tune, suitable effects, appropriate Frequency
Morpher settings, etc., click on the
Nickvoices button and choose
the Save command,
type in the name of the new file to save it.
The saved file will be in .nvc
file format (nickvoice layout file format).

the Nickvoices button and choose
the Load command to
open and load the file into used.
4-8. As soon as I turn on VCS, my Yahoo! Messenger stops working. Top
You must be using an old version of VCS. Go to the download page and upgrade your voice changer to the latest version. Also, you may need to contact our Support Team for further assistance.
4-9. How do I achieve a natural voice with VCS? Top
Follow these tips to have a better voice output with
VCS:
- Set the
Advanced Tune close to 0.
- Do not adjust all Equalizer
bands too high. You can
use the presets or manually combine all bands.
Try this
way: Drag the sliders down and gradually raise them up
till getting the best combination. The five left bands
are bass frequencies, and the right are trebles. Add
more bass to have a warmer voice and more treble to have
a high-pitched voice.
- VCS DIAMOND users can use the
Frequency Morpher,
Formant Morpher, Voice Equalizer
and Sound Quality to get a better
result.
- Do not open many applications while VCS is in use.
4-10. The voice output is accompanied by echo and feedback. How do I fix it? Top
Probably you have your speakers placed too close to
the microphone. Please keep away from the speakers and
turn your microphone to another direction while speaking.
Using headphones is highly
recommended for a better voice output. If the echo still
persists, open the
Volume Control (the small
speaker icon at the right corner of your taskbar), click
Advanced under Microphone and uncheck the box "1+20dB
Gain" or "Mic Boost".
4-11. I hear lots of background noise when running VCS? How do I avoid it? Top
Open the Volume Control (the small speaker
icon at the right corner of your taskbar) - click
Options menu - Properties
- check Recording and all
the recording controls in the list - OK -
the Recording Control
comes up - select
Microphone and drag its volume down
until the noise
disappears.
VCS DIAMOND users can also use
Noise Reduction
in the Sound Quality module (Advanced effects panel) to reduce extra noise.
4-12. When I morph songs, the vocals are finely changed, but the music is broken badly. Top
Simply adjust the Advanced Tune close to 0, and the problem will be fixed.
4-13. It is annoying that my original voice is heard along with the changed voice. Top
Open the Volume Control (the small speaker icon at the right corner of your taskbar) and check the MUTE box under Microphone. By this way, your original voice will be muted, and you will hear only one voice output – the altered voice.

Apple AIFF/AIFC
(aif), Monkey's Audio (ape), Active Streaming Format (asf),
Sun (au), CD Audio Track (cda),
IRCAM (irc), MPG123 (mp3), NIST (nist),

The application includes MPEG Layer-3 audio coding technologies from these providers:
- MPEG Layer-3 audio encoding technology license from LAME.
- MPEG Layer-3 audio decoding technology license from MPG123.
So, rest assured that you can play any mp3 files with VCS Player and save the recording in mp3 format with VCS Recorder, too.
For detailed information on all the audio file
formats supported by VCS, see our
help section.
4-16. Does Voice Changer Software support mp3PRO and Fraunhofer IIS mp3 files? Top
VCS does not support creating/saving audio files into MP3 format by the mp3PRO or Fraunhofer IIS codec.
VCS, however, does employ the Windows Media Encoder
(a freely downloadable media encoder developed by Microsoft) as one of its components
in processing digital audio data to save/create/playback the MP3 files. When running VCS in
Windows XP or earlier Windows OSs, this codec is presented under the name “Fraunhofer IIS
MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced)” and is used for processing low quality MP3 files. But since
Microsoft has stopped including the Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 codec in its multimedia framework
from Windows Vista on, VCS does not currently support the use of this codec in producing MP3 files.
4-17. How to use Parody Maker and Parody Mixer? Top
- Add your own voice into Parody Voice Maker:
+ By recording a new file (*.wav) or locating a recorded file
(*.wav).
+ Try to speak a short conversation in about 30 seconds.
- Disable all the effects and pitch-timbre changes

or play music to see effects. For a
better voice output, adjust the
Advanced Tune close to 0
